Patchwork Poshaak — Festival
Yellow belongs to Guru — Jupiter. At 526–606 THz, it is the colour of wisdom and abundance. Pitambari — the yellow-wearer — is one of Krishna's 108 names, recorded in the Vishnu Sahasranama. On Guruvaar, this poshaak is not a choice. It is a logic that has held for four thousand years.
The patchwork construction draws from the kantha tradition — multiple fabric types assembled and stitched by hand. Each panel is individually cut and joined, meaning no two pieces are precisely alike. The construction itself is the craft — the variety of fabrics within one poshaak represents the wholeness of the devotional offering.
The Thursday Alankar for festive occasions. Pair with the pearl mala, the peacock mukut, and fresh yellow marigolds. This is the definitive Guruvaar combination — worn across every major Vaishnava temple on Jupiter's day. Nothing needs to be added to it.
