Chamak - Mukut & Poshaak Set
Kundan stone-setting — the technique of embedding polished gems and glass stones into a gold foil base — originated in the royal ateliers of Rajasthan and has been used to adorn temple murtis and deity jewellery for over five hundred years. The Mughal emperors commissioned kundan work exclusively for the most important royal and religious objects. What was once reserved for emperors now sits in your puja corner every morning.
Every kundan stone on this poshaak is a cut glass surface — faceted at multiple angles to maximise light refraction. When a diya burns near the altar, each stone functions as a tiny prism, splitting and scattering light in every direction simultaneously. A poshaak with a hundred kundan stones does not reflect light once. It reflects it a hundred times, from a hundred different angles, at once. This is what chamak actually is — not decoration, but engineered light.
Daily upgraded seva piece. Pair with a small peacock feather mukut and a single fresh marigold. Keep the rest minimal — the warmth of the saffron does all the work. Reserve embellishment for silk and the festive occasions.
