Printed Cotton Night Suit
The Fact
In most Vaishnav homes, the murti is put to bed at night — a tradition called Shayan Seva, the ritual of rest. The poshaak comes off, the day's Alankar is set aside, and something soft and simple goes on instead. Even the divine sleeps. The night suit exists because the day, eventually, ends for him too.
The Science
Soft printed cotton, unlike the structured embellished poshaak worn through the day, has no rigid embroidery or stone-work pressing against the murti through the night. A simple weave with give in the fabric allows it to rest naturally against brass or silver for hours without friction or pressure marks.
Alankar — Styling Note
Change him into this after the evening aarti, before the lights go down. No mukut, no mala — just the night suit and rest. Tomorrow's poshaak can wait until morning.
