Peacock Enamel Pendant — Meenakari
Meenakari — the art of enamelling metal — is one of the oldest craft traditions associated with Vaishnava temple jewellery. The peacock in meenakari is a specific iconographic tradition: the body in green, the crest in gold, the eye in a contrasting stone. This pendant follows that tradition precisely.
Gold-plated metal base with hand-fired meenakari enamel in green, red, and white. The enamel is applied in layers, fired between each application — a process that takes several days per piece. The result is a depth of colour that cold enamel cannot achieve, and a durability that allows for daily handling.
Attach at the chest of the murti above the mala, or use as the centrepiece of the festive Alankar in place of the brooch. On any day where the peacock is the chosen motif, this pendant completes the offering in a more delicate, contemplative register than the larger brooch pieces.
